Our Story

Joseph Acevedo grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and worked throughout his life with his father’s produce company at the Produce Terminal. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from Southwest Texas (now Texas State University). He took a free LSAT prep course at Trinity University and matriculated to law school in Houston at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Today, he still enjoys listening to and watching their marching band perform.

Growing up as a minority and attending a minority university for law school, Joseph has a deep sense of where he came from and the institutions at play for him and other minorities then and now. After graduating and passing the bar, he started his own law firm where he has practiced a few different areas of law including criminal law, family law, and personal injury. His wife helped him grow his practice as they would work long days, nights, and weekends. While he has done a little bit of everything, he specializes in criminal law and personal injury.

Throughout his 30+ year career, he has served Texans from all types of backgrounds, including business executives, professional athletes, doctors, Grammy-winning artists, and everyday people. No case is too small or too big for the Law Office of Joseph Acevedo.

His business card says attorney and counselor at law. In a way, he truly is a counselor both to his clients and their families. He helps people during some of the lowest points in their lives.
